Hello everyone. Has anyone bored a LaSalle block (322 cu. in.) to a Cadillac ( 346 cu.in. ) standard size? .125" difference in diameter. So that would be .0625" off the sides. Doesn't sound like to much. I figured the Cadillac and LaSalle blocks are the same except for the bore. I can't see them having 2 different blocks that would be that close for a finished diameter. I can't see having 2 cylinders resleeved and boring the others maybe .030". Any comments appreciated... John C. Lehman ...CLC # 26365...
I believe thats been done many times John.
John,
I have taken my spare '37 Cadillac block out by .090 and had no problems but I followed good advice and had the wall thicknesses of each cylinder checked first.
