In '57 the Eldorado could be ordered with either a single four or dual fours with the gold batwing as a no cost option. There have been several discussions whether the single four air cleaner was black or gold. FYI Attached is an eBay listing of what appears to be an original single four car with a gold air cleaner

The car undeniably looks like a survivor. This air cleaner also does not have the air filter decal on the front like the black filters. I can only surmise that the gold filters did not have decals, seems strange though.
Looks like the horn relay is painted the same gold?
The gold wheels were not offered in 1957...and the Sabre wheel was changed for 57 to fit the different design front drum of 1957 and 8 models.
If you try and put a 1955-6 Sabre on a 57-8...it distorts the front drum. Ask me how i know that!
If you look at the back side of the wheels...you will see the difference.
Neat car...Notice too the car has the Drum style clock.
I noticed the owner states that the car came with the " Very rare gold option package with gold grill and 5 gold Kelsey Hayes Sabre wheels" I have seen several Biarritz owners that made the same claim. Did the dealer offer such option? My 57 Seville is identical to the one on EBay and it came with gold sabres as well!
Gold wheels were available ONLY for 1956. Front brakes are larger in 1957 snd the '56 wheels will not fit without a spacer.
