When you say "Spear" moulding are you just talking about the rocker stainless covers?

Hi  Steve....Yes the rocker stainless cover  series 62...there 1 rows of holes in the reverse curve..holes along the 1" side  and then it has metal thread screws about 6 securing it to the the underneath of the rocker  I have now acquired a set and don't know what clips would hold them in place   Thanks  Doug

Hi Doug,
I may have some of the additional items you need. Please allow me to look. Maybe someone knows if they've reproduced the little upper clips. Those have always been a tough item.
Thanks, Bob

Below picture shows the clips that were reproduced years ago by Charlie Babock for attaching the 41 rocker moldings. I think there should be six but I only have five. $ 25 shipping include US ONLY. If interested please email me at inglerfly@cox.net.  Thanks   Bill

Hi  Bill ...Thank you for your interest.....I can make clips .. but would be ideal to see the originals  ..there would be 2 types for series 62  ..clip similar to yours that pokes into a 1/4" hole along the reverse curve rocker  and probably a spring loaded clip along the 1" edge to keep pressure and mold  ..Thanks again for you input  Regards  Doug

Only ever seen the one type that Bill shows on all my 41s?    Stainless slots over the top clips and is held by the screws on the underside?

Hi  Steve ... Thanks for the advice  ..It shows what a great lot people you are helping out..I thought that they might have been a wire clip similar to a internal door trim  square in shape and relying on the downward tension to hook onto the swage along the edge hold in place....... Regards  Doug

Bob, not only are these "hood lock plates" used in all 1941 models, they are also used for 1942. (Checked the book.)

I always pass along this tip. When adjusting the rod so that the lady closes with a minimum of fuss, never leave out the cotter key that holds the locking arms in place. I had a good friend with a prize winning '41 convertible sedan leave it out to adjust the rod "one more time" and it fell out. He finally did get the hood unlocked but he also had a large "out" dent in the hood when the 2 x 4 or whatever he was pushing with "slipped."

I have passed this tip along for probably forty years or more and hope it's saved some people the heart ache the good doctor had when he showed his car with the big dent in the hood.
