Looking for two things:
4-way flasher knob
Plastic retaining strip for clock
I'll be away next week, so if you reply to me, it may take me a bit to get back to you
I'm missing the column flasher knob for my 70 and posted a while back with no success. If you get any hits ask them if they have two and let me know. Welcome to the wonderful world of the 1970 Cadillac. I have some other miscellaneous extra trim stuff also.
I'm starting to realize that I can buy a lot of the one year only 1953 stuff than most 1970 stuff (and easier to find). 1970 clocks on ebay are going for a crazy $300. Last 61 clock I bought was $30 and just needed to be serviced. 1953 restored clocks are under $175.
Worst case for the flasher knob I'll use another gm one of the era (OPGI has them in their catalog) and call it a day. Something is better than nothing in the hole.
Dan,
Do you need a clock? Or a retainer?? Please advise. I have lots of nice 70 parts.
Thanks, Bob
Fortunately I have the flasher stalk, I'm just missing the black rubber cap for the end. My clock doesn't work but that's lower ranked on my endless list of improvements - hope to someday pop for the leather needed from SMS Auto Fabrics to have my front seats redone and get rid of the color coordinated duct tape expertly installed by my teen daughter. ;)
It's not duct tape, it's called hi speed tape--- and I have it too. A lot of it unfortunetely.
Lots of 70 stuff out there..... just not what you need!
Jeff
Actually, here it is called 100 MPH tape. Guaranteed to hold on up to 100 MPH, and actually, beyond.
I have some of the 4" wide red stuff covering the worn out Arm Rests in my '72. Put it on there in 2008, and still holding well.
Bruce. >:D
Bob. I did find a retainer on eBay but wouldn't be opposed to buying a nice working reasonably priced clock (the one that's in there shorted badly after I reconnected it)
Jason - I'm in the same situation. The stem is still there but the rubber end is missing.
Dan: I'm wondering if the rubber end from a 70 cigarette lighter is the same size as the signal flasher end. I've seen lighters on ebay for $10-20, maybe we could buy those then somehow steam away the adhesive to get the tip off then re-cement onto the flasher stub. Could do by eyeballing as I have my full set of lighters but my car's in offsite storage. Let me know what you think if your car's at home.
I'm wondering if this would fool 99.5% of the uneducated masses.

It would be better than the stem sticking out
I have a few of these Hazard knobs. Might have the retainer strip too. I'll email you directly Dan.
