Title: 1976 Electric Trunk Release
Post by: Chas on April 20, 2017, 12:51:09 PM
I'm in the process of installing a factory 1976 trunk release in a CDV that did not originally come with one. Question: Did the wire run up the left hinge and continue on inside the left side of the trunk lid, or did it run up the right hinge and continue on that side? Thanks in advance!

I would run it up the side the button is on, if cabling is convenient.  Bruce Roe

Chas,

Most of the ones I have worked on come up on the driver's side.  There is a major wire run under the carpet on the driver's side in a plastic sheath.  If you remove the sill plate on the driver's side and pull up the carpet you will see it.
