Title: 1962 RH Mirror install
Post by: arch62 on May 26, 2017, 05:27:30 PM
Does anyone in the Chicagoland area have a shop trustworthy and experienced enough to install one of these?
Two shops say they do not know how or need to take off entire door panel?!?

Not a Cadillac, but on my 1962 Oldsmobile installation of an outside, right hand side view mirror was a DIY project.  The mirror bracket screws into the door skin and the mirror screws onto the bracket.  For me it was simply a matter of drilling a couple of holes in the right location.

Obviously your patience came from medical school. LOL.
This sees too perfect with no error tolerance.

Do you have the installation instructions & template??? If not, I suggest you get them BEFORE you start drilling.

Template does not indicate distance from front door jamb.

May end up using velcro at this stage.
