Title: Where'd everybody go?
Post by: Cape Cod Fleetwood on January 28, 2018, 11:54:50 PM
They made me have my own thread... guess no one reads it anymore.... :(
Can anyone answer my question on the hood insulation plugs? Please?
Laurie?

You will be answered, when people have the answer.

Sometimes one has to be patient.

My apologies, I was answered, I never got the email from the list saying a response had been posted.

"answer is none of the new hood pads are correct"

That was my experience also with my '73 hood pad after ordering two of them.  Made it work but it was only close, many of the pre-made holes for the clips were incorrect.  As I remember I used a gasket making punch to punch out new holes after marking their correct locations and glued the punch-outs into the incorrect holes to hide them.  The hood was off the car at the time, taking the job from a difficult PIA to not-so-bad an ordeal.

Great tip, as I'll be putting my hood on soon, but I'll now put the pad on first.  Thanks!  Chuck
