my 1976 eldo conv interior lights stay on. I know the dash lights bypass the fuse box the other interior lights have a fuse that I can remove. Any ideas like maybe the button that pushes in when the door is closed. I hate electrical problems as they are so hard to trace.
The most likely suspects are the door switches, and the headlight
switch. Does it have the delayed or twilight sentinel control? If
unplugging all them still leaves the light on, there is probably a
wiring problem to track down, might be a grounded light socket.

The interior lights delayed shut-off relay might be bad. If I remember correctly, it's located along the lower interior firewall on the driver's side, where the carpet stops. (general area of brake pedal...but my memory might be wrong) I'd check my '76 for you for the exact location but it's in my garage about 40 mins away, and I can't get away today to go get it.
I narrowed it down to passenger side switch. However, it corrected itself for now. Good point about delay, I totally forgot about that feature.
Thanks.
