Just seeing if there is any interest in the club for my 61.
1961 in Lexington green.
64K miles. Original car. The only things updated are new bias ply tires (from Universal in Hershey), new windshield, new brakes, fuel pump and I just had the carb rebuilt. Oh a new old style tar top battery.
Options:
Heater
Radio
Guidematic
Tinted Glass
6-way power seat
door edge guards.
Car is a solid #2 in condition.
I really don't need to sell it. But lately I've been yearning for a nice mid seventies Cadillac.
Car is located in Hartford, Connecticut. $20,000 or best offer. Got a nice trade? Looking for a mid seventies Cadillac that is turn key. Must have tilt wheel and working A/C
Drop me a line and convince me to part with my 61. Davidsmith121@comcast.net
Dave... Please don't take this the wrong way but I'm going to repeat what I said to you at Hershey: You're nuts!
Eric ;)

LOL I KNEW you'd be the first person to reply!
Dave,
Your car sounds like the perfect car for the guy in England.
Bob
Not really. I work odd hours and weekends so getting the car to a port for export is out of the question.
The buyer should be able to make those arrangements himself. There are specialists for that kind of thing. Talk to Brian Rachlin.
I'm still shaking my head in disbelief. :o

I think you should add it to your collection Eric. Just buy Lynns Crystal blue 76 Talisman that is forsale and I'll happily trade it with you. I like that better than the Persian lime 74 CDV that was in Hershey.
If it had two less doors I'd seriously consider it; two less doors + black, I'd have to own it. :)
David, these are your friends talking to you! This thing looks like, if not 1961, at least 1963. If you want a '70s car, go see your friendly banker. But if you sell this thing, you'll regret it forever. Keep it. (AND I like yours better than the Fleetwood.)
Hi Barry, You are probably right.
You've heard of the seven year itch? Well I get the three year itch when it comes to cars. LOL
Steven in Scotland is interested in it. If he can work out the details it may be going overseas.
You can always keep Carl Steig's '74 CDV (Persian Lime) in the back of your mind. I think that Ann still has it. I was going to buy it sight unseen and have Carl drive it to the Denver GN, and then drive it home. But Ann put the kibosh on that deal. (I guess it's hers.) Carl replaced the plastic and drove it a little before his passing. Very nice car.
The 74 CDV was in PA. It had a jasper green Maharajah cloth interior. I saw it at Hershey but the seller wasn't interested in a trade even if it was in his favor. They just wanted a quick sale. Which I guess they got as it is marked sold on their website now.
Anyone have a picture of the Persian in Persian 74 that was at Hershey ?

Barry,
I think that car has been sold several years ago.

I didn't save the info once I saw it was sold.
Beautiful car, Dave.

That's the first lime green car I've ever seen that didn't have the obligatory WHITE interior!!!

Beautiful car, Dave.
Thanks Vince! If I win the Powerball lottery tonight I 'll keep it, build a nice house with a big garage so I can have several collector cars.
David, having owned both 1960’s and mid 70’s , and while all wonderful cars, I can appreciate your interest to trade. I have evolved a greater fondness of the latter. I’ve had some wonderful 1974’s RWD and they have such a great feel, so quite and smooth. Expansive hood.
I too, would like a Persian lime (with white leather) !
Right now, I have a mandarin orange 1974 CDV with plaid and white leather interior, orange trim.
The 61 is not going to Scotland so it is still for sale.
Hurry before I change my mind and keep it! LOL
Dave I love it. Just adding to the chorus.
Thanks Bryan!
But I think it is time to move on. I really have my heart set on a nice 70s car.
I don't think my price is out of line. In fact, from all the 61s and 62s I have seen in the high 20s and mid 30s my car is a good buy.
And I'm even willing to do an even trade if the right car comes up that is less money, ie: Lynns Talisman.
Lynn's cars are about it though as I don't see as much paid for even nice 70's Cadillacs.
$20,000 buys a time capsule, #1 - car for sure in about any body style you want. Obviously CdV's and convertibles bring more, but I owned some of those 2 door Electras and Centurion Buicks from the 70's and for me, getting a four door is preferred. The doors open and close easier and fitment seems to last longer.
Looks like the Lime one that was Hershey ended up selling for 12k , wish I would have been there to buy it . Anybody come across a lime or orange one with matching interior for sale please let me know .
I'll be sad to see the 61 go, but it will give me enough money to buy Lynns 76 and cover the sales tax and shipping costs to get it from Virginia to Connecticut.
I do miss my 1961 Sedan DeVille
I'd like to see it go to another CLC member. But I'll put it up in Hemmings soon if nobody is interested.
Bump.
Still needs a good home. Go back to first post for pics.
Hey, it's GOT a good home... (Couldn't resist!)
LOL Good point. I'm just ready for a change.

Dave I don't know if you would be interested in my car as a trade?

Ooooo! I do miss my 75 Eldorado convertible! I love 72s! Yes I am interested. Do you have more photos?
I guess Bill wasn't serious.
Sorry , My oldest Daughter had emergency surgery and I had to make a quick 3 day trip to Rochester New York and have been off line. Please E-Mail me at mercguy1@aol.com and we can converse further. Sincerely , Bill Young
Hey Bill, Sorry to hear that. I hope she is ok. I'll drop you an email.
Going to pass on the 72 convertible. So unless someone waves a fist full of money at me the car will stay put until Spring. Then I'll take a few more up close photos and put it up on Hemmings online. I'm still dreaming of Lynns 76 Talisman.
