Title: Hood hinges should get a new look
Post by: Lowrider2905 on December 16, 2018, 04:10:14 AM
Hi folks,

I had a very bad incident a few years ago, my hood popped off and my hinges where badly damaged. 2 weeks before a car show. Bought 2 worn out ones here in Germany for too much money and the old bent and torn ones where laying around, always remembering me about this day.

Then I had time and disassembled the old ones, took a lot of bending and twisting to get the parts in good shape again and sent them out for plating.

Now I am working on new bolts. The original rivets are gradually (hope to get the correct word), and I have to ream every hole, because these are not perfect after all the work. And then I have the option to fabricate rivets, or bolts with self locking nuts. Hope to get  the original look again.

Greetings, Richaard

Those parts look great! I cannot wait to see the finished product. I think the word you were looking for is "tapered" (kegelförmig) rather than "gradually". Your English is certainly better than my German though...
