In freshening up my a/c on a 1956 Cadillac after the engine rebuild, it has been strongly recommended to address the 60 year old dryer on the thing. trying to keep originality, is there anyone out there who might 'rebuild" that unit? Any other suggestions if that idea fails?
Thanks!

Chuck,
Old Air in Fort Worth, TX did mine quick turn around too. ;)
Long time no hear, Jose! Thanks friend, I'll give them another call. I spoke to them yesterday about the R134A adapter issue you and I talked about.

If it were my system, I would stick with R-12. The
reasons behind my statement are that the system was
originally designed to function with R-12 and will
perform as it was designed. I have a 1973 Cadillac that
I keep on R-12 and will continue to do so.
Also, R-134A is now being phased out -- so you will have
issues in the future.
Lastly, R12 is still widely available and will continue to
be available. since large stocks still exist here in the U.S.
Yes, it's more expensive but since you're redoing your
vintage AC system why not get the most out of it?
