From my 49 sedan I purchased in 1986 in Franktown, Co near the Johnny for $2,600.
Did you buy it from Watts family?
My '49 was sold new by that same dealer, Rickenbaugh Motors in Oct. 1949. The dealer is still there at 777 Broadway in Denver and helped with the GN there some years ago. Last year my wife and I were in Denver and stopped in. The service manager greeted us, then introduced us to a mechanic who owns a LaSalle and who has worked on several CLCer's car. He then gave us a license plate frame with the dealer name which is now on my Cad.
Harry. I didn't buy it from the Watts family.
Jay. Washburn sent a copy of the invoice to Rickenbaugh :<)

Less than 2% sales tax!!!
What fantasy world was this in 1949? ;)
To compare, state of Colorado sales tax today is 2.9%. Not bad considering the number of years that have passed.
