Post by: amolnayak on March 08, 2019, 08:50:18 PM
Hello everyone starting this thread to document the restoration of my 1940 Lasalle 52. Imported this car from the United States in 2016 and have been working on it for some time. Here are some before and after teaser shots.

Very Nice. Even the hubcap centers! What is the building in the background?

Hi Tom yes the hubcaps were a nightmare to get right. I realized that these must be the toughest hubcaps to paint amongst all the American brands. The building in the background is the Rambagh Palace now a luxury hotel where the Cartier travel in style concours de elegance was held.

Hi Steve the restoration on the car was appreciated by all the judges however I was the youngest car in the prewar American group. The winner in my group was a pebble beach competitor “ Stutz” second place was 1918 packard and third a Garderner convertible coupe. The chief judge was Sandra button a pebble beach judge.
