Rich,
I may have one. Please post a pic & show the length of the shaft. Is it a locking or non locking.
Bob

Drivers side should be non locking. Key is on pass side.

Hi,
Back to work on my LaSalle! Last day of school today.
The handle I have was a nos and in great condition. The problem is my handle shaft length is 3 3/8”. The replacement handle has a length of 2 7/8 “. I need the longer handle shaft.

Thanks,
Rich

You want a locking handle, right? Please advise & I'll look.
Thanks, Bob

Rich, the locking handle in 37 was on the passengers side. Drivers side was non locking:-)

On my LaSalle the locking handle is on the driver side. Some time in the past someone must have changed it.

Ah ok I see where you are. This may sound like a stupid question, but why do you need a new one?  I ask this because when I got my car the PO thought the locking handle was on the drivers side and of course it didn't lock! I switched it with the pass side and all work fine now.

I wanted to send the handle to get rechromed. Most chrome shops take about 6 weeks before receiving the finished product. I wanted a spare to use this summer.  I drive my LaSalle daily and would miss driving her while I wait for the handle.

Thanks,
Rich

First, Dave, many people switched the handles because they thought it was stupid having the lock on the passengers side. I agree. Not everyone was as agile as Martin Balsam was in Psycho. The scene where he slid across the seat of a 57 Ford to exit. LOL!!
Rich, the bad new is I can't find any handle that's long enough.

Rich,
I have one you can use if you send it back when done. I would have to measure it first:-)

I found a non locking handle on EBay tonight.  Thank you for offering a handle to lend me. Hopefully the one I bought tonight has the correct shaft length and my original handle can go off to the platers.

Now I need to find a plater that does pot metal!!

Thanks,
Rich

I have been using Advanced Custom Chrome in Erie PA. Chris does nice work, but you pay for it:-)
