Title: 1956 Series 62 duel Carburators
Post by: silverbullet07 on May 15, 2019, 10:54:12 AM
We have just restored a 56 Convertible and I am trying to find photos of how the throttle return spring is set up on the duel carb setup. The throttle bracket in firewall has a spring but not strong enough to return the throttle arm. I was wondering if there are additional return spring on front somewhere.

Any photos would be helpful

Thank You

There is a 56 biarritz survivors roster, they should be of help to you.

The photos attached are mine from my 56. Not the greatest photo's because of the air cleaner being installed. Hope they help.

I have "the book" on adjusting the dual Rochester carbs
for 1955.  Yours are Carters, but I believe the linkage
and set up should be similar.  Here's what it shows:

There are some major differences between 1955 and 1956 as you can see on the picture.
I'm 100% sure that the return spring is not correct. When located outside of the US, you have sometimes to be creative!
