Just use a paint pen.  My understanding is they weren't painted from the factory and instead this is a common thing collectors do to "dress" their car up.  My 55 has it and I'm thinking about removing it and bringing it back to blue.

eBay item number:  392267914388

Put the item number in the eBay search box, if you can't find it, post back here.

1953 or 1954 was the last year for the painted, if I recall correctly.

I don't have the patience to use a paint pen, so I bought the decal set & installed on a spare pair of covers....looks like a decal....
I talked to a pinstriper @ a car show. I will be removing the pair on the engine & have him give it a try.

Thanks for the ideas,

Phil
