Jon,
I know you're in a bad situation right now. I'm gonna give you some advice. Do NOT repeat do NOT buy parts from a salt belt car to repair a salt belt car!! Do you know what western sheet metal looks like?? If not, you need to see some first hand. Call some yards in the south west. See what they have.
Good Luck, Bob
There was a whole slew, reported ~500, of 59/60s (TX?) that went to estate auction earlier this year, and would've been good for you. I looked for a '58, several but none good. You might try to track the auctioneer down and see where they all went. Next, Calif or desert, but these are popular and getting harder to find in the yards, people hoard them, as that guy did.
ps:Politely, going down that road, is how one spends 3+X more and many years to fix something than it's worth.
If the roof is also bad, you're repairing the wrong car. Most probably structural damage too. Find one with a good body/frame and do it, or one that's done, use yours for parts, if any.
He says the frame is good.
He’s looking for a donor body shell.
Bob Hoffman is giving good advice. Get a Coupe from a dry climate.
Not from a dry climate. Not running and not worth the asking price. Sub 10k in mho.https://decatur.craigslist.org/cto/d/decatur-1960-cadillac-coupe-deville-100/6985295181.html
I’ll take every one of those you can find in that shape with low miles for “sub 10â€.
Is need to see what the interior is all about but it’s a worthwhile car.
Way too nice to use as a donor body.
