Post by: Thomas Lindholm CLC#13781 on November 20, 2019, 11:31:28 AM
Found a new camshaft in a box marked 1961, can it be something made for military vehicles? If so are they the same as a civil engines?

Tom,
I think we decided years ago that all cams were the same. I have no idea why the box would have a 1961 date on it.  Do you have a picture?
Do you ever hear from Ed G. anymore?

Here is a picture of the box. Sorry but I don't have any contact with Ed, I know he had some health issues but don't know how he is doing today

I had one of those cams a few years ago. It was dated  1958 (I think). As best I could find out it was NORS. It appeared to packaged per govt specifications, multi wrapping, one in aluminum foil and a generous coating of cosmoline.    Harry
