Hi,
What I call the center metal bumper inserts that have the Cadillac Script in black are not in the best of shape on my 1938 Cadillac Series 75 and I would like to try to find a front and back that have already been restored. I'm also looking for the bumper guard vertical pieces for the rear bumper as mine have a few dings in them. I saw a set of the center piece at Grand National last year at the swap meet but every time I went over to the lot the guy was gone and was not able to get a price. If anyone knows who that guy was and has a contact number that would be helpful as well.
Thank you in advance,
Kevin
Both items you are looking for a very hard to find. If you have solid metal on the guards they can almost always be restored quite easily. You may have to cut out the bolt and set to straighten it but again easy to weld back in. The bumper name plates are much more difficult to restore but if you have a correct 38 one nice to keep it. The font is different (more fine line) than the more common 39 one which has been reproduced at various times but currently not available that I know of. I don't know if he is still doing it but Bruce Berghoff has restored these before.
