Title: LaSalle Moxie Horsemobile
Post by: wrench on January 17, 2020, 07:54:22 PM
I stumbled on this on an unrelated search online. (Don’t ask)

So I searched the forum and got no hits on Moxie or Horsemobile

Best line in the article: ‘Effigy of a stallion’

The comments section on the Hemmings article is a hoot.

There was one of the Moxie Horsemobiles at an earlier Potomac Region Capitol Cadillac show. I'm sure Vince will see this and post some pictures.      Harry

Honestly, I think this is an interesting metaphor for the times when the automobile was replacing the horse. It seems to be a cultural artifact of those days.

My dad was born in 1918 and they were delivering ice off a horse drawn cart and he always called the fridge the icebox.

Back in the late '50's, the Rabbito was still delivering skunned rabbits via a horse and cart in my area.   The horse knew where he, or she was going, and all the "driver" had to do was hop off and back on the cart to deliver his wares.   And the Rabbits didn't taste bad either.   Try doing that with a Cadillac, or any other motorised vehicle.   Oh, maybe they will one day.
