Title: 1958 365ci. Engine parts
Post by: #1CaddyFan on February 07, 2020, 07:31:43 PM
Hi All,
I am needing engine parts from a 365 ci. 58 engine. I need a fan, fan pulley and related hardware. A crank pulley and harmonic balancer with related hardware. Any help locating these parts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

Are these what your are looking for -> http://forums.cadillaclasalleclub.org/index.php?topic=156572.msg437022#msg437022

Still available if they are what you need, just shoot me a PM.

PS 1958 has a 390 not a 365 just as FYI and these are for an A/C car  ;)

:)  1959 was the first year for the 390, '58 still had the 365.

Thanks
But I am waiting to verify if my recently purchased coupe which is in transit is an ac or not model. I will check back and it is a 365ci. engine I for which I need the parts.

Dan,
If you have some pictures of the car,  look closely at the area just behind the rear window on the top of the quarter panels. If it has factory A/C,  you will see a small intake air vent on each side of the car. It's about two to two and a half inches high and six inches long,  and there's a chrome grille on the front of each.
It sounds like you bought it over the internet,  so look at the pictures you have of it.
Even if someone has taken the A/C out of the car,  the vents may still be there,  as it would take a good bit of body work to hide the holes where they were located.

This might help you figure it out before the car arrives.

Hi
Sorry, but 1956 was the last year for those air intake vents on top of the 1/4 panels, there is no noticeable difference on the outside of a 58 a/c vs non a/c car.
I find one good way is to look at the dashboard, as the ‘58 a/c cars had the a/c vents on the dash right below the window, while non a/c cars did not, so if there are vents right under the windshield on the dash then it’s an a/c car. Over the years people could have taken the a/c parts off the motor, but very few people changed the dash.
Anyway, I have all the parts you need off my ‘58 parts car if you car turns out to be a non a/c car
Thanks
Michael

Michael,
I think the car he's got coming is a '56, he's just using the '58 engine in it. Unless I've got him confused with another person, in which case I do apologize for my mistake.

Look at his post about putting a'58 radiator into a '56.

But you are right about the intake vents for '58. They moved the whole unit from the trunk to the firewall that year didn't they?

Hi,
Ok, I’m sorry I never saw the other post about a ‘56, I just saw this one that says ‘58, my mistake.
I’m ‘57 they moved everything to do with the ac system to under the hood
Thanks
Michael

Hi, Bruce,
Since this post I have found that the car is indeed a non a/c vehicle. So are those pulleys 2 groove style. ? If so what are you asking ? thanks. Dan
