Title: Striker (I found one!)
Post by: Roger Zimmermann on February 14, 2020, 08:04:54 AM
To secure the hard boot to the body, 2 strikers are used and screwed on the partition behind the rear seat. One of the strikers on my customer's car is not correct; only the fatter one is original. Do you have one for sale? The strikers were used on cars with hard boot from 1954 to 1956.
I’m adding two pictures showing the wrong one (the customer has a finger towards the wrong one) and the correct one.
Thanks for looking in your unsold parts stock!

Roger,

I am going to make some reproduction versions as I finally found a good sample to copy.  The digital scanning is complete and I've sent the math file to the foundry to have them cast.

I need a pair for my car as well.

Thanks David for the info. The striker from Dennis is underway and I was not aware that you were in the process to reproduce them.
It would be interesting to know what you are reproducing or intend to do.

Ships Chandlers sell them in stainless. 53 Eldo uses them too. I think they are called a “Footman’s loop”.
