Hello group, after my 500 rebuild I used the old rocker arms and it shows. There's some light ticks from a few of them. Has anyone used the shaft mounted rocker arms or will they even mount correctly? Or how about the roller rocker arms? I attached pictures comparing the three.
Thanks again.
Roman,
Shaft rockers were a pretty common design so there isn't anything inherently wrong with them. Note that in most cases anything other than the stock rockers won't work with the stock valve covers. One issue is the baffles drop between the rockers on the stock ones and the shaft would be in the way. Second issue is that the stock covers tapper in on all 4 sides. The ends for sure lean in very sharply so the ends of the shafts usually hit. In some cases the rockers themselves will hit on the long sides.
Thank you for the explanation. There's always something. My initial search on the stock rockers and pivot mounts seem pretty slim. that's the reason I was going for an alternate solution.
thanks,
When I rebuilt my valvetrain, I went to Cad Company for the rocker components. Here's a link to the catalog page (OEM stuff at the bottom):

Thanks, I used them for the forged piston and rings on my rebuild.
