Post by: Roberts 63 on January 18, 2022, 07:25:37 PM
Hello All I have a 63 Cadillac with a 390 I'm putting new oil pump gears in it and would like to know what the clearance is from the gear to the case on the sides.

Backlash between drive gears, .008" - .012"
Clearance between pump body and gears, worn limits, not over .005".
New limits, .003" - .005".
Clearance between pump body drive shaft, new limits, .0010"- .0025"
Worn limits, not over .005".
