and I agree James. I know the downsized Eldorados were laughed at in 1986, but this styling is smart, elegant and has a hint of European to it. I wonder if these will ever catch on. I think the 2 offered here are owned by appreciative but elderly gentlemen who just don't drive them enough.
I am old enough now that I have seen the appreciation of the 1970's Eldorados. They made a lot of them and many were kept long after other old cars were scrapped. Those cars are, I mean no disrespect to owners since I am still looking at some to buy - dinosaurs. They simply are not economical in fuel consumption or space requirements.
But I wonder how many CLC members take the time to talk to 88-91 Eldorado and Seville owners?

Having owned dinosaurs and loved them, and then, having fallen in love with the initially downsized 80's Cadillacs with the anemic 4100's, I owned a 90 Allante back in the late 90's and just purchased a '88 Allante. I think the Cadillac front wheel drive 86,87,88,89 were well designed and still can provide a lot of pleasure. They refined the 4100 ht,BUT never used that nomenclature,vastly lightened the load the engines had to pull, worked on port injection, refined the electronics and they worked hard on the driving dynamics. I purchased an 88 because it was designed without adaptive dampening shocks (replacement no longer available), does not have the antitheft key device, and it rides and drives as intended with the Italian influence most in place. Additionally, these late 80's Cadillacs provide the most sophisticated on-board trouble shooting electronics....using the service manual and getting advice from an Allante expert, I was able to fix 4 mechanical challenges without taking the car "to the man" and I'm a 77 year old geezer.By today's standards, these late 80's cars were very simple, and I think they are beginning to stand out among other more modern sedans.

Thank you as always for adding real time input. I have owned a 1993 Allante and was always on pins and needles and ended up selling it to finalize my divorce.
