Back on the project after several long holidays. Included with car was a small collection of parts. Pictured are 2 fuel pumps both with hand written notes on box "500 ci Caddie". A google search says the 25001183 was used on gm cars '75 to '84. The 25000917 looks like the one in my shop manual.
Any help on id would be appreciated.
The pump 25001183 shows to be for Seville's, 1976-79 with certain stereo options. 2500917 shows for 425 EFI Eldorado 1977-78 with stereo UP6, which I think was CB radio. For a 500 Eldorado the correct in tank pump would be 6429959. Not sure what the differences are....good luck
It seems crazy that the sending unit would be based on stereo options. I wonder if it had to do with noise suppression?
What's in the car now? I think I would lean towards rebuilding what you have in the car. So far my pumps are working on my 1979 but if I eventual experience failure there's a good chance I may set it up for a single in-tank pump.

Further checking shows that the 25000917 superseded the 6429959
Thanks jagboxx for the clarification. I want to drop the tank for cleaning as the car has only been ran briefly in 30 years(it ran awful).
The boost pump will be replaced removing one more reason for poor running. The electric pump provides 39psi so thats within specs.
I've replaced the timing gears and chain and BCRoe has gave the ecu a passing grade.
This project has been a real learning experience as I have not worked on anything near this complicated. Restoring (2) cars of the 30's , building (2) basic hot rods and an airplane didn't provide much background.
If anyone reading this could use that 25001183 pump its yours, I'll even pay for shipping.
