NOT MINE:
With the 'cheapest' new car at over $20,000 ...I find this 600 Mile example a great value. The Northstar was finally 'fixed' by 2005. I have had and still do have several DTS 06-11 models ...wonderful and outstanding cars.

PA car dealer snapped it up in the first day. I would've bought myself but I can't bring myself to pull the trigger sight unseen as some guys in the business do. Cross country transport will probably run a couple grand to boot.
I agree, 20 K for a car with few miles is a great deal, but we all know that there's some mechanical work that will need to be done. Chances are that 17 year old gas forced through the engine has done some unintended damage as well as a pile of crud in the gas tank. And what about the coolant and potential acidity? Other lubricants, old flexible brake lines that tend to lock up brake calipers, and tires...Perhaps the former, long time owners drove the car regularly for short distances each year, but for a car of this age to be slumbering for nearly two decades, there's considerable work to be done. I hope whoever purchases the car is aware to these challenges.
I would be scared of the electronics ie: computers in it failing. You could potentially end up with an undriveable new car.
