Title: How long should my glovebox trunk button hold vacuum? 62 CoupeD
Post by: dixoncj on December 07, 2023, 09:27:18 PM
Hey guys. My glovebox trunk release button only works for a few days if I don't drive the car and thus re-boost the vacuum that activates it. I assume this is normal because I wouldn't think it'd hold vacuum forever.  Am I wrong?

I think you are probably correct. The good thing is it works when you do drive it. I remember my 1966 where I would have to hold the button for a long time to get it to work at times when not driven often.

Maybe you need to check the ends of the vacuum line for cracks and if you have enough slack to trim the ends. Then maybe look to replace it. That might be a tougher task since I am not sure where these lines are routed.

It might be a pain in the a** to put in a new one.

Wow. I didn't know it was vacuum on 62. It is electric on 61.
