Is there a resource that can track the history of an individual car? I can tell from old stickers on the car and more recent registration paperwork that the car has been in California, not sure when, in Iowa, at least in 2012, in Texas for a few years and in Washington since 2017. Just interested to see if I get it's history since new.

I don't want to say unfortunately you canno, because I don't want someone who buys a vehicle after me looking me up.
The car has no standard vin, so currently service record searches do not work.
GM does not even have a list of the dealer outlet code reference, so they cannot look up which dealer the car was originally sent to.

Having been down this road years ago, I have to tell you that
there unfortunately there is no one "resource" that can trace
the ownership of your car.
For example, California destroys their registration information after 20 years. My car was originally shipped to CA so I'm aware of this. The original shipping destination is noted on the build sheet. Usually it's just a dealer outlet code or for certain years (like 1955) an "outlet code" 87011, for example, for a large CA franchise like Don Lee. Don was not a single dealership,but had a large portion of CA under his control. GM did away with this franchise system in the 60's. The build sheet for my '55 Eldorado simply says "LA".
As to where you go from there, it's very difficult. I tried
searching in local libraries, newspapers, etc. for old information. I did find some info about the dealers in the area (Beverly Hills) but nothing iron clad. My '55 has a custom dash plaque (Cadillac option) that says "Baron of Belaire".
