I need to remove the tray in my car, its faded ripped. Can anyone tell me how to get it out, thanks
So,I got the bar off the top and there are 4 clips, are the holding the tray down. I cant get the tray out. Is it glued in there?
The edge behind the seat back was glued down on my Fleetwood.
It was just the vinyl that was glued down.

OK so maybe just a couple of butter knives and pry it up?
Thanks for the pics. Your old one looks like mine. I thought it would come out in one piece but no luck, its tearing, now I have a real mess here. I thought it wood come out in one piece , then I could recover it, but thats not gonna work, Im gonna need a new one.
If you have a coupe you might be able to buy one. I had to make one for my Feetwood.
Did your old one come out in one piece.
Yes. Other then the speaker area falling apart. After I peeled up the vinyl wrapped behind the seat, the shelf pulled forward to release the lock tabs.
I had to transfer the lock tabs to the new panel. They originally were crimped into the panel. I had to rivet them in place.

Nice, where did u get the material ur using, it looks great
The panel board is the same stuff the door panels are made of. I just had to order a large size. Shipping sucks on that so you could check with an auto upholstery shop, if they buy by the pallet it is better.
I punched the holes myself.

I glued a speaker fabric first.

Then I found a heavy fabric to cover that.

It was like a thick vinyl screen material.

A light glue coat on each using Weldwood landau top adhesive. Then I sewed the edge, then I painted the whole thing.

Then I sewed on the vinyl edge. When I install back to the car i will glue a thin piece of foam on the radius edge under the vinyl.

This is what I used for the top fabric. This was on top of the regular speaker fabric.

When punching the holes, always use a punch that has the outer part of the punch square, and the angled sharpening surface inside the punch.
This way, the hole sides will always be straight.
Bruce. >:D
PS. If you only have the normal hole punches with the sharpening bevel on the outside, then you can make your own with a piece of tubing, and carefully with a Dremel type tool, grind the sharpening bevel on the inside. I find it best to use a drill to start to create the bevel, plus it takes out a lot of metal so less internal shaping.
Assuming you want black, they do have other colors, https://www.opgi.com/interior-accessories/package-tray/deluxe-mesh-rear-seat-package-tray1/shelf-rear-seat-1959-60-cadillac-2dr-hardtop-coupe-deluxe-mesh-ce14279.html
