This would be a great car to restore, providing the floors are still in it. All the windows are down and it looks like the rear window is missing or broken, so it's probably filled with pigeon and chicken crap, not to mention the rat crap.
Is that $99,999. the price or was that one of your parameters for your search?
Rick
100k? Na there's a lot of really nice Eldos out there now for that or less. Theres the green 58 Eldo which was in Comedians and Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld and Don Rickles. 88k and mint.

Have to wonder why he didn't just list the asking price. ::)
Maybe he was afraid he would frighten potential buyers away.
Maybe he is just looking for offers. I was unable to make the link work.
Sounds like the seller is waiting for the highest price that can be obtained.
Bruce. >:D
PS. I couldn't open it either.

The '53 Eldorado is a special car and in a different league than all later Eldorados. Original base price that year of $7,750 was the highest of all RWD Eldo Convertibles 1953 to 1966.
Eric while this may be true and I agree...the interest in a 53 is much lower than the later models. They are pretty cars though.

I don't know about that however I agree the '53 Eldorado doesn't seem to command what it did years ago. All other things equal, I think it still brings at least as much as the 57/58 EBZ but less than the almighty '59. ;)
Has anybody been able to make contact to get more info.
I'm ignorant about Facebook an computers generally outside typing these messages on the forum, even with Mike helping me.
More help with info would be appreciated - unless this is a scam ???
Have fun,
Steve B.
I'm with you Steve.....I just asked the seller for some more pictures, interior, cowl ID tag, trunk, motor and around the car...etc...
I also asked if they have come up with an asking price....since they said the 99K wasn't a real number....
I'll keep you posted as to what I get.
Mike
looks like the brake fluid took a toll on the rockers .which most likely means the car is all original. Dave
The seller sent me these pictures....Also a video of a walk around of the car....interior is what you would expect in the video....
Body # not on the survivors list...Alpine White body, Blue & White Leather, Black top...
Mike
I texted back and forth today with the seller today....
She told me she sold the car for $50,000....I thought it would go for $60-$75K...
Has the 1953 Eldorado run its course....Is it the 1959 Eldorado the one to own now ??
Mike
I suppose the price sold for would reflect the availability of reproduction pieces for that model.

I see the '67-'68 Eldorado becoming very popular since the people interested in the 1950s Cadillacs are aging out. However, there will continue to be a market for the outrageous design of the '59 Cadillac for the foreseeable future.
A friend of mine that was following this car and lives close by saw a FB post from the purchaser stating his intention to go the LS and air suspension route. Hey don't shoot me I'm just the messenger. Harry
