Title: Hydra-Matic Model Identification
Post by: dfontana on June 11, 2024, 04:19:50 PM
I have an early Hydra-Matic transmission with "10-3" and "8611716" cast into the casting and "C50- 89789" stamped into the red oval aluminum plate that is riveted to the casting.  Is there reference material available that will tell me the model year of this transmission?  Thank you, Dick

If I'm right, the transmission came from a 1950 Cadillac (C50-xxxxx)
As I'm not at home, I cannot verify.

I think Roger is right, I found an old GM training manual for the Hydra-Matic transmissions on eBay.

Lots of info.....see pictures

C-50 is truly 1950 Cadillac.
