Hello Gentleman,
My 47 62 series convertible has a early 46 motor .. are there any differences in the motor from a 46 to a 47 ? heads ?
thanks, Jaan
Same part number from 1941 thru 1948.
thanks for the fast reply ,, someone told me there is a difference in the casting reinforcements
on the surface .
If there is a modification with reinforcement, the part number would be different. However, it's possible that the production heads are indeed different. However, the heads sold as spare parts are all the same 41-48, maybe with the latest "improvements".
Maybe you will get a more precise answer from the people who are dealing with those years.
There must have been a change during WW2 in the heads. The 1946 parts book listing calls for
1941-42 1441399 right
1097397 left
1946 1451331 right
1097508 left.
Newer books just list the 1946 numbers for all 1941-48
Slight changes in the casting may or may not be enough to change the number. You will need to get casting numbers and dates. If you need to know.

Some early 1947 Engines have incorrect cast right cylinder heads. It would result in over heating, and should have long ago been corrected. The problem was in the water passages and how it they mated up with the block.
