Title: Will 55 Cadillac wheels fit a 41 short term
Post by: 55Fleetwood on July 24, 2024, 12:27:10 PM
I have a 41' 60 special that I'm planning to have the wheels powder coated and I'm wondering if anyone has put a set of 55 Cadillac wheels on a 41? In Other words will they bolt up and fit properly? Not planning on driving the car, but basically just having the wheels so that I can move it around the Garage?? Larger

It would  have been nice if someone had tried this . But it should work. They are both 5 stud and a  5 inch bolt circle.

The 41-47 ,15 inch wheel was 5 1/2 inches wide. The 48--55 15 inch wheel was 6 inch wide. Tire clearance ,brake drum clearance is unknown, without trying. I ruined a set of 1957 front brake drums with a pair of 1956 Sabre wheels, moral; don't force to work.I see you have 75 series and 86 series 1955's. Those wheels are made stronger ,but should work the same ,its just thicker steel.
