Title: 56 Eldo rear plate hanger config
Post by: JungleCadd on July 30, 2024, 07:18:45 PM
Greetings fellas,

Can anyone support me w pictures of how the rear license plate is hung on the rear of an 56 Eldorado?

The T frames I see on listing seem like they will not be the right config for eldo.

Any direction will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
E

It should be identical to other '56 models. If I don't forget, I'll do a picture tomorrow, unless somebody else is quicker...

Thanks Roger much appreciated.

They are in short supply apparently
.
It looks like it wraps under the bumper and anchors there. Not sure what the slots are for that would be behind the plate.

Much different from 55.

I wonder if a 60's hinged guy would bolt in. Maybe I could put a flame thrower behind it lol

Sorry, I misread your message: I read "license lamp" and not "license plate" As I'm using a different system in my country, a picture will tell you nothing.

I guess I've figured it out.
It's much different from 55 and reaches under the bumper. Was hoping for pic w license plate removed. Thanks anyway

Anyway, I did two pictures to show how license plates can be attached in Switzerland: as I have two historic cars, I can use the same license plates up to 8 cars.
There are other methods to attach the plates, removable or permanent on one vehicle.

That is very progressive.   Must be one of the only places in the world that works with the classic car owners.

It could be, but I'm not sure. It could also be only applicable in a small country. On the other side, taxes and insurances are the same as for a "normal" car. In the Canton of Bern, taxes are relative to the gross maximal weight. With more than one historical vehicle, the highest weight is relevant for the road taxes.
