Title: '41vacuumn antenna
Post by: tcom2027 on September 01, 2024, 12:07:31 PM
Good morning,

Since Klaus has retired and stopped rebuilding them, we are on our own. Is there anyone out there who has rebuilt/repaired one that can share the secrets to making them functional.

Good morning,

Thanks for the offer.

I got it working. The mast  moved very slowly using engine vacuum. Using an A/C vacuum  pump it did ok with 28 inches. I disassembled it and polished the bore. Now it moves freely throughout the range using engine vacuum of sixteen plus inches.

It was missing the mounting hardware. Once I saw a picture of what was missing I made the sleeve, collar and nut using black delrin. THe radio doesn't work yet  so I don't know if the cable is ok.

I'm sure others on the board who need their units repaired will contact you. THe cost is very reasonable.
