Title: 1966 Cad Convertible Lights
Post by: RandyK on November 24, 2024, 06:29:01 AM
1966 Cadillac Deville Convertible
My lights are really presenting a problem.

Here's what's happening.

1.} When I pull the light switch out luckily the headlights go on. But the dashboard lights do not and even when I turn the knob to brighten or dim they still do not come on. If I wiggle it they come on for a bit a go out.

2.) When I open the doors only the driver side courtesy light comes on. I replaced the bulb and also the entire fixture and it still will not work.

All help appreciated!

Look at the 1959 Headlight switch post as it contains the info about the headlight switch. I had same issue on my 60 and it was a bad socket which needed cleaning out. Sometimes they are not well grounded. You have to9 remove the door trim panel to address that.

With regard to the dash lights not coming on, it is most likely a bad headlight switch.either clean the original one with contact cleaner, or replace it.
