Title: 1941 60 Special Paint
Post by: LCross on December 10, 2024, 06:21:11 PM
I am planning to paint my 1941 60 Special Cimarron Green, did the original paint have any metalic in it. The paint shop I went to gave me a sample and it has metalic in it and I do not know if this is right. The paint code they used was GM 64.

It's called Cimarron Green Metallic in this chart.

I am not knowledgeable about the 1941 Cadillacs but I do have this observation about the paint on prewar Cadillacs: the metallic particles in the paint were ground finer than metallic paint from later on, like the 60's. As I recall when I matched the paint on my 1940 Lasalle dashboard, there were different grades of metallic additive available.
