Title: 1931 18” wheel lock rings
Post by: yachtflame on December 21, 2024, 07:59:47 AM
I'm searching for lock rings to go on 1931 18" wheels. Mine are so rusted, the Chromer is having a hard time prepping them to plate. Does any one here know if these are being remade? Does anyone have any spare lock rings?
There used to be a fellow in the mid west, named Mr. Carlin that had a couple barns full of wheels. I lost his number and am wondering if anyone here has his contact info.
Thanks!

edinmass didn't know him?

A few suggestions how to maybe find him:

1. Did he advertise in Hemmings?  Perhaps contact them and ask for his contact info.
2. Reach out directly (email / postcard / phone call) to other CLC members who own 1931 era and a few other years that may be similar.  There are several dozen members who own 1929 to 1931 Cadillacs in the Directory.  Ask if they have any extra parts you need and/or if they know of Mr. Carlin.

I just did that here. I'm hoping that members will read this thread.
