First Merry Christmas. I would like to know in 1955, if you ordered the saber wheel option on a Coupe deVille, was the spare in the trunk also a saber wheel? I think it was but I want to verify it from an expert. Thanks in advance for the reply.
When I had my 55 I had a spare. Only makes sense to have 5. The one thing it wouldnt have is a spare cap...but thats up to the buyer to decide.

The 1955 Cadillac Data Book says that Sabres were sold in sets of 5. I assume that at least 4 had the center caps, but not sure if the spare came with it's own cap or not. Anyone know? Clay/Lexi

All 5 in my case have center caps
Master Parts list shows 5 wheels and 4 center caps being used.
That would make sense as if there was a 5th center cap intended for the stowed spare, would that not interfere with the removal of the hold down nut which secures the wheel in the trunk storage space? So no cap would be necessary, but to use the one off of the changed wheel? I should look into this more. Clay/Lexi
