Hello Everyone
We're a new member working on a 37-75 series Touring Sedan. It's in great original shape for an 87 year old car, but it has an issue.
When coming out of a corner, the steering 'falls into a notch' which requires a strong pull on the wheel to correct. It feels like there's a
piece of the worm gear missing. A stethoscope verifies it's the box.
Does anyone know of a shop with experience with pre-war
Saginaw worm and double roller boxes? Or re-build literature?
Thanks in advance for any info.

The Lares Corporation (800-555-0638) in Cambridge MN overhauled mine for a 1936 Series 75 back in July 2023. Not cheap but seems to work fine. Good Luck, Ken Z
Lares seems to do the rebuilding of steering boxes for all years, makes and models. They are the first name that pops up in searches. They also supply the many retailers and wholesalers out there with re-manufactured steering gears.
Thanks Ken Z. and Big Fin
Exactly what we needed!
I'll report back with progress and outcome
