Post by: Bob Hoffmann CLC#96 on February 09, 2025, 08:33:09 PM
John Coyle AKA Caddy Daddy passed recently. I don't know any more details.  There is a memorial on his  web site.
RIP John.

I called and they are going to remain open for business and continue operations. They have gotten a lot bigger over the years and have a large inventory of repro bright shiny stuff along with some engine parts and pieces for forties fifties and sixties cars, along with some NOS and used parts.

I had known and dealt with John for decades. I lived in Sonoma County about twenty five miles from Johns' operation. Beginning in 1986 or so I started doing business with him when I bought our first prewar CAdillac. At that time he didn't have a large inventory of prewar parts. However when we bought a '67 DeVille I did a lot of business with him. His parts were good quality, the prices were fair.

For many years occasionally I bought, sold and traded parts with him. He was always fair in his dealings with me. He never tried to low ball me once he got the part and always paid on delivery. After a few years even though  I didn't live far from him, I shipped some parts sight unseen and I always got the price we agreed on beforehand.

It's only been recently after buying our LaSalle and LAter the 63 Series that I contacted John and bought a few hundred dollars worth of parts from him.

Tempus fugit. RIP,John.

CLC members are urged to buy parts from our advertisers such as Caddy Daddy. Let them know you saw their ad in The Self-Starter.
