Post by: Phil J on February 28, 2025, 07:54:06 PM
I have power windows on my 1949 club coupe(apparently a rare option?) Anyone have a rebuilding source or tackled it themselves? I think we heard the pump run but since its out may as well rebuild  thanks in advance

Hydroelectric in Florida.  Their ads are all over.  Overhauled pump on my'47.  New cylinders available, also.  Second generation company

Yes, Hydro-e-lectric is the source, on ebay and practically everywhere as mentioned.
The cylinders are  the "costly" part as they always will need to be replaced if non restored car.
Pump I would say with the right mind set and tools is repairable.

It is also a good idea to flush the system and switch from brake fluid to ATF. Also check and probably replace the hoses in the doors. It is good to spend the money and time to do the whole system "while you're at it" as going back in is a PITA.     Harry
