Where is the best place to get Coker tires?  prices are all the same--do not know if there are any better prices out there

Summit Racing. The main advantage is that they do not charge for shipping. Coker does.

I bought mine at Summit. look for summit discounts.  I got $50 off if I spent 500 or more at the time.

FYI - I'm not sure how much it's for, but there is a discount code in the February edition of the Self Starter. It says a "whooping" discount.

I wish I could source the Coker tires that are on the 50, but it appears they no longer make that style.

I wish coker would make the Bias Firestone in a 2.25 white wall. I asked twice and they said no both times.

"I wish coker would make the Bias Firestone in a 2.25 white wall. I asked twice and they said no both times."

The  cushy suspension on Cadillacs was, in large part, based on bias tires being inflated to the low 20 psi range. With the advent and eventually ubiguity of radial tires, and the early failure of radials when underinflated, Cadillacs of the pre-1980 period where relatively harsh--- especially so on  Eldorado's with torsion bar suspension.

I have radials on my 76 Eldorado with torsion bars and aside of the typical convertible rattles, my car rides beautiful.

Call me when you get back to Melbourne and you can see first hand.  :)

Please tell me the page number where this discount code appeared in The Self-Starter in February. I cannot find it. We take spelling accuracy seriously. Besides, Coker Tire stopped advertising with us in November.

Question does Coker still make this style?  Found this and Doris needs new tires ASAP!

Warning about Coker tires, we purchased a set several years ago, blackwalls for our 1942.

They had dozens of titties - short, medium and longer - on the sidewall which we found to be ugly.

Coker made suggestions including cutting them off and having the tires polished locally (tried with a specialty company).

Neither option provided what we decided was a tolerable result.  Eventually we returned the tires; brought them with us to Hershey.

Coker was very reasonable to work with on this problem. The explanation they provided for this appearance problem was their molds were old.

So found out those Lester tires havent been made since the early 2000s.  Good news is supposedly Lucas Tire has the dual 90s coming back?  Yet to confirm this intel.

Have Coker tores gotten better? I have seen many negative comments about them on this forum and someone I know tried 2 sets on  Bonneville before returning the second set and buying Diamond Backs.

I think one distinction you have to make when shopping for and comparing tires is are they for driving or showing/looking at?

I went with the Vogue tires for my car and I'm very happy with them. Smooth, quiet and hold the road in the rain. The 1 1/2" whitewall won't work for everyone, but it is 99% correct for my application. I bought them off of DiscountTire.com.

The closest tire I can find for the 50 is the Universal bias ply tires.  They look close enough to whats currently on the car.  The rest are either too wide a white wall or a later variant that's appropriate for later models. 322 a tire is a hard hit but its better than 410 for the other makes.

For me it was the $1000 for the Vogues or $2000 for the Michelin Diamond Backs. Vogue tires have been around a looooong time.

As posted, there's an original 1950 one with Doris :).
