I will soon be putting my 1960 front seat in. Im kinda mixed up and forgot how these metal plates go in or what they are for. If anyone has any pics of this set up, that would be great. Do the metal plates go on top of the track, in other words, do I put the seat in , then put the metal brackets on top, then the plastic covers?
I do not know the order of assembly as to weather these are installed before installing the seat or not, I tend to think they would be installed after? in any case they are designed to cover up the adjustable seat tracks on the sides from view, especially if the seat is adjusted to top travel or rocked back far.
Raise the seat fore and aft as high as it will go. Before snugging up the mounting bolts, slide the metal sections in between the carpet and the seat track. Tighten the seat to the floor. Then, with the track covers, mount the long side to the outside with the push pins and the top hinged section of the cover connects to the upper seat adjustment rail with the push pins.
Jon,
Here are some pics which may help.
If you have the mounting push-pins to mount the covers to the track, holding them up to the holes in the tracks and align the pins and push.
Don't forget the rear of the tracks and the rear floor carpet.
Have fun,
Steve B.
