Mechanic says it just blew a frost plug, who knows, but this may be a running engine. It was running 2 wks ago. Rochester carb

It may be worth a good clean up and running it on a stand to see what you have. A complete gasket set could save you thousands in junk parts and machine shop costs. Unless you plan on keeping it another 50 years.

If you can find the disc brass freeze plugs, clean up the seats and JB Weld them in. The steel plugs for some reason seem to swell and shrink with the heat and blow themselves out under pressure. I lost 4 of them that way and they were put in and seated correctly. A small bead of JB Weld held them in with no issue. I also had a high volume Flow Kooler pump. It was overkill.

The seats have to be perfectly clean and free of pitting to get a good seal. You can also try red Loctite Thread Locker. That was suggested to me after I had put them back in with JB Weld. The bad part about that is, if they ever have to be removed again, the cup seats will have to be machined again.

Did it come with A/C compressor brackets?  I'd be interested in them if so.
