There was a cut mark on the body of this 56 pump. I will weld and grind to repair it. Most likely someone had used a cutting tool to remove impeller. Not a good idea.

Rebuild parts that were inside were stamped "china".

The 53 and 56 shaft are 2 different sizes. The 56 pump was pulled off a 51 Caddy. Strange.

I bought this puller yesterday from Amazon for 10 bucks, ground the ends and Bingo I have an impeller puller for water pump real similar to Cadillacs tool.

A 1956 water pump removed from a 51. New improved after market water pump with better seal and impeller. Only issue is when it does need rebuilding there are no kits.
