Title: Electrical harness connector into firewall - does this look right? 1981 368 V8
Post by: chrisbutnut on July 22, 2025, 10:55:31 PM
One of the electrical harnesses, where it enters the connector at the firewall in the engine compartment, has some black sticky substance in the harness (particularly where no wires are present).  Does this look correct?  This substance is not present in one of the other connectors adjacent to it.

1981 Fleetwood Brougham with the 368 V8 (V8-6-4).

It may be a sealer placed over the openings to prevent gasses, heat and noise from entering the passenger compartment. Others more in the know will chime in, I'm sure.
