Title: Soldering Pot Metal
Post by: NH LaSalle on August 16, 2025, 04:02:44 PM
It has been suggested to me that a product Super Alloy 1, which is a low heat solder is ideal for repairing pot metal parts.  However, the person from whom I received this information had not had personal experience using it.
Has any club member had any direct experience with it??

Hi NH Lasalle,
We bought some a few years back....Gary is a welder by trade and could not get them to work. He said, he'll send them to you and if you figure it out, you can show him.

You still have to have the chrome stripped first. So to me, I would just let the chrome guy do it.

I thought about buying chemicals to do my own chrome plating. If I did thst I would try it.
