Note the round turn signal lights, hood crest and letters, etc.

Yanns database does not show Cadillac production for Pickups!!

Verry nice!!!
Cant ID the year of the Cadillac used in this transformation, but the Chevy cab is either 49 or 50
Had visions of converting my 86 SDV into a pickum-up at one time, sure glad was just a passn fancy.
Good Luck, Jim

Youll find this one in the Dream Cars section of the Cadillac Database:

www.car-nection.com/yann/Dbas_txt/DRM40-42.HTM

Its a conversion of a 42 sedan  to a pick-up truck. I have it from Daniel [aka "Zoot"] Dimov, a friend and automotive writer for Frances Nitro magazine, that the car was found in Florida, in the auto classifieds; included with a lot of  more recent Cadillac limousines were TWO of these 1942 pickup truck conversions on Cadillac chassis. The buyer, a biker friend of Zoots went to view the cars on a used car lot bordering the Everglades. An Arab gentleman bought the first one; Zoots friend got the second. Both were converted from sedans, during in the forties, at the request of a Las Vegas casino; they were used as baggage trucks for the casinos VIP guests who, in turn got hauled around in the regular limos. The French biker-buyer also is an automotive writer and has featured this car in one of his articles. Youll note it has French license tags from the Toulouse area; these may have been replaced now with Spanish tags.

Very interesting, Id love to have one of these, Always was kinda sweet on a Cadillac truck, must be a product of my woodchuck heritage. Biggest thing I dont like about Yanns data base? I get looking at pictures and before I realize it, Ive blown 2 or 3 hours! LoL Keep up the great work Yann!
